Last month, a 29-year-old construction worker was killed after being struck by a car. She was hit while working on the construction zone along 1604. The driver fled the scene, according to a KSAT report. The victim, Tracie Sheppard, was pinned between two cars and died when a Ford Explorer veered off the road into the construction site. After crashing, witnesses say the driver of the Ford sped away and did not stop to render aid. San Antonio police describe the accident as “very violent.” The Explorer was traveling at highway speeds through the construction site. Luckily, the suspect was later caught by SAPD.
